The Statesman and Patriot Sen. McCain Asks To Postpone The Presidential Debate
Sen. McCain States the Financial Crisis Is Too Grave For Partisanship
Sen. McCain once again shows he is a true statesman and patriot. To Sen. McCain the health of the economy, addressing the issues that are on everyone’s mind and dealing with what is best for America is much more important than the election. This afternoon Sen. McCain said he is suspending his campaign and asked for the Presidential Debate to be postponed. Sen. McCain is going to Washington tomorrow to do his part to help solve the financial crisis.
Sen. McCain is asking the liberal socialist Barack Hussein Obama to do the same and join him. The statesman said this financial crisis is too critical for partisan politics. Once again the true statesman and patriot took the lead and the high ground. Let’s see who follows his lead.
Let’s hope the liberal socialist Obama will join the true statesman and patriot Sen. John McCain, putting politics and partisanship to the side and replacing it front and center with what is good for the American people and our fragile economy.
Speak Now America! we want to hear from you!

The pendulum has simply swung again and McCain is behind in the polls. McCain's campaign is afraid he'll lose the debate to the superior orator, Obama, so McCain has decided take a breather. I doubt if the public will see this as a selfless act on behalf of country. I'm guessing most people will see this as a sign of weakness, desperation, and political maneuvering.

Thank you Terry I learned a couple of things from your comment. First, that being a good orator i.e. being able to expertly read from a teleprompter evidently makes you presidential material. People like you think it has nothing to do with what you have done for your country or the fact you've forgotten more about foreign affairs than your opponent ever knew. As long as You're a great orator, your good. Second, I know Obamabots have blinders on and the press covers for Obama but we've seen Obama having to think on his feet. Saddleback was a pretty good proof that Obama can't orate without a teleprompter. That is why Obama would only agree to 3 debates moderated by liberals, he refuses to do townhall style because that would be too hard for him. What obamabots will never understand is that a true patriot and statesman will always puts his country first.

Tami, it looks like you just admitted that McCain did a cut-and-run because he was afraid of losing the debate.
And if, as you say, Obama is such a poor speaker, why has McCain taken the coward's way out?
To serve his country? Well, here's what his country thinks.
"SurveyUSA has just completed a snap poll on response to John McCain's request to cancel or postpone the presidential debate.
Several questions. But two key ones.
What to do about debates?
Hold as Scheduled 50%
Hold with Econ Focus 36%
Postpone 10%
Suspend Campaigns?
Suspend 14%
Continue 31%
Refocus on Fin. Crisis 48%
Would canceling the debates be good for America? 14% say yes."
And:
"0: Number of banking bills McCain has introduced this Congress.»
Yesterday in an interview with CBS News, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) insisted that “John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business.” However, she was unable to name a single example of McCain pushing for more regulation in the past 26 years. Today, the Hill reports that McCain “has not introduced any banking or housing bills in the 110th Congress, while Democratic rival Barack Obama has proposed five”:
McCain is the lead sponsor of 38 pieces of legislation during the 110th Congress, none of which have been referred to the Banking panel, according to a review of Thomas, a congressional website. Obama has introduced 130 measures during this Congress. Four of Obama’s standalone bills fall within the Banking Committee’s jurisdiction" (Think Progress)
And:
"Obama Will Make Debate A Townhall If McCain Doesn't Show
Barack Obama is committed to hosting a public, televised event Friday night in Mississippi even if John McCain does not show up, an official close to the Obama campaign tells the Huffington Post.
In McCain's absence, the Senator is willing to make the scheduled debate a townhall meeting, a one-on-one interview with NewsHour's Jim Lehrer, or the combination of the two, the official said."
Oh, a townhall meeting. What do you know?

I would say you jumped to conclusions Terry, McCain was making a statement and an honorable one that if he was needed to work on the Economic bailout plan, he was staying there as it was more important than the debate. It was not a cowardly move at all, he was more concerned with the American people than politics. Of course Obama wouldn't know that because he doesn't love this country or its people. He has shown it many times over and over.
You mention a townhall meeting, Obama has been asked to do several and wouldn't so tell me why that is? If he had done one alone it would have been because he would have been able to regulate it his way, if he did a joint with McCain he wouldn't be able to, hence his refusal. If anyone is cowardly it is Barrak Hussein Obama. Anyone that is unwilling to come in front of the American people and answer their questions directly is a coward in my book.
