Conservative Spotlight on Rep. Eric Cantor
Rep. Eric Cantor R- VA. The Future of the Republican Party
Rep. Eric Cantor was born June 6, 1963 in Richmond, Virginia. Married to Diana Cantor, they have three children, Evan, Jenna & Michael. He is currently the Republican representative of Virginia's 7th congressional district. He assumed his office January 3, 2001. Rep. Cantor attended George Washington University where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He received his Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary, and received a master's degree in real estate development from Columbia University.
Cantor was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates, serving there from 1992 to 2000 before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He is currently the only Jewish Republican serving in the lower house of Congress. Wildy popular, Cantor in his last four races has not received less than 64% of the vote. Cantor's first term in office, he was selected to serve as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare. He has also served on the House Financial Services Committee and on the House International Relations Committee and the very powerful House Ways and Means Committee. In his second term, he has served as chief deputy Republican whip, the highest appointed position in the Republican caucus.
On Sept. 29, 2008, Cantor, blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the failure of the $700 billion economic bailout bill. Pelosi had struck "the tone of partisanship that frankly, was inappropriate in this discussion," Cantor said. "This is not a partisan crisis," Cantor said. "This is an economic crisis facing everyone." He noted that 94 Democrats voted against the measure, as well as 133 Republicans.
Rep. Cantor was mentioned as possible V.P. President running mate for Sen. John McCain the past election and is considered a possible prospect for the 2012 presidential election. Cantor is a stalwart conservative who happens to be the only Jewish Republican in the House of Representatives. He is reputed on Capitol Hill to be “squeaky clean,”. He has a nearly 100 percent rating by the National Conservative Union, but is still reported to do well with the more moderate wing of the Republican party as well with Democrats.
Cantor's views on Israel and its struggle against Palestinian terror are among the most hawkish in Congress. He has sponsored legislation that would cut off all US taxpayer aid to the PA until they put a halt to unauthorized excavations on the Temple Mount.
Here is where Rep. Cantor stands on some other issues:

He is Pro- life and voted 100% of the time with NRLC
