When asked about the American automakers flying in private planes to testify before Congress last week?  He responded

"Well, I thought maybe they're a little tone-deaf to what's happening in America right now," "It's been a problem for the captains of industry generally,'' he added. "When people are pulling down hundred-million-dollar bonuses on Wall Street and taking enormous risks with other people's money, that indicates a sense that you don't have any perspective on what's happening to ordinary Americans."

Then, he adds: "And that's true, by the way, for members of Congress. That's true for the president. That's true for Cabinet members. That's true for parents. I want all of us to start thinking a little bit more, not just about what's good for me, but let's start thinking about what's good for our children, what's good for our country. The more we do that, the better off we're going to be.''

It sounded like Barack Obama, community organizer speaking,  the new socialist President-Elect.

Walters, tried to get him to comment on the appointment of Hillary Clinton, he said after Thanksgiving he will make official announcements.

President-Elect Obama said he plans to ask people to be energy conscience, to turn the lights out and not be wasteful, unplug cell chargers. She asked if he was going to turn the lights out in the White House. He said he is going to sit down and talk about how energy is used in the White House so he can show people it can be done.

Please tell me this is NOT his energy plan for the country to replace the drilling he is so against! Check your tire pressure and flick off the lights, we don't need to drill for oil people!

Walters talked about the many racist attacks that have occurred since his election, his response was that his winning the presidency was an enormous vindication for race relations and that there will always be some who will react as such. He says he does not believe they are at the heart of who America is.  He was asked if he feared for his safety, he said no he did not, he has a deep religious faith and great people who will be surrounding him and protecting him. ( Not to mention this 3 million + obamabots)

Then the subject of his prized Blackberry came up and he told Barbara Walters he is in negotiation with Secret Service and attorneys, he does not like the isolation that surrounds the President. He doesn't want to be in a bubble and lose touch with the people. I thought it funny this subject came right after the one about his safety.  I hope someone gave him the news that carrying around a Blackberry is right up there with having a big black arrow above his head saying " Here I am" as he will be easily tracked with it.

Shortly after, Michelle Obama joined the interview she was asked if she felt this huge responsibility because she is going to be the first Black 1st lady, she responded saying she doesn't look at it in those terms. She is excited about it.  They talked about their children and how they would adapt.

When asked where he sees the country a year from now Obama said he hoped people would be saying " they have been through the worst of it"  the economy is starting to rebound and that businesses would be starting to invest and new jobs would be created. He hopes people would say the President isn't perfect, Washington isn't perfect but they are honest and they care about the people.

All through they tried to appear and convey they are just a normal family. It is yet to be seen if they bring about change as they have promised and if so what change? For who's benefit?

This evenings interview did nothing to answer any questions anyone might have about President Elect Obama, it was very apparent that all questions had been reviewed prior, there were no surprises. Honestly as an after thought, I thought it was not worth staying up to watch it. I doubt any future interviews with President Elect Obama are going to be earth shattering. We know from this past election, what happens when tough questions get asked, people get banned.  We will only know by his actions, which we will be watching closely.
