Make Socialist Democrats Give America A Tax Holiday
America who knows better how to spend your money, you or the socialist Democrats?
America do you want the socialist Democrats to have control of you and american businesses? Do you want the socialist Democrats deciding who makes it and who doesn’t?
Rep. Louie Gohmert R-TX has a brilliant plan. The plan is so simple and will do more to help the American economy than all the meddling the socialist Democrats can ever do. Of the original $750 billion in bailout money approved there is $350 billion left. We all know the 1st $350 billion has done nothing to help the economy. Rep. Gohmert’s plan is to give American taxpayers a tax holiday. No FICA, no Medicare, and no federal taxes withheld from American workers for 2 months. This will be less than the $350 billion left and do 100 times more for the economy.
American workers would get to spend the money they have earned and the socialist Democrats can’t waste it. If our news media was honest you would know the socialist Democrats are to blame for the economic crisis. Legislation passed under Jimmy (the peanut farmer) Carter and Bill (I didn’t have sex with that woman) Clinton with Democratic control in Congress caused the economic crisis. Republicans can be blamed for not aggressively telling America what was happening.
America this will work. It is a simple but novel approach, a tax holiday so Americans keep more of their hard earned money. Americans deciding how to spend THEIR own money not the socialist Democrats deciding how to spend THEIR money.
Rep. Gohmert stated, "By instating a temporary tax holiday, we could electrify the American economy and provide overwhelming relief to taxpayers, all for less than the cost of the current failed Paulson-Pelosi bailout system."
"We need to give this money to the people who earned it. I am sick of Washington millionaires trying to decide which of their cronies should get the next wad of taxpayer money," Rep. Louie Gohmert continued. "Think about how much you would have if you didn't have any social security or income tax withheld from your pay check, or if you didn't have to pay those taxes for January and February! Americans could take and invest their own money where they believe it should go - to paying down mortgages, buying a new car, making credit card payments. The economy would get relief where it is needed the most. Why try to decide how to prevent foreclosures? Just give taxpayers their own money to catch up on their payments. Those in lower income brackets who are hit the hardest by the FICA tax would see huge money back, and then THEY could choose who should benefit from their hard earned money. Even the self-employed and small business owners would receive a fantastic amount of their own much-needed money, and they will be able to invest that back into their businesses and even create the ability to hire more people.”
According to American Solutions, a conservative think tank founded by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Americans pay $101.6 billion per month in personal income tax and $65.6 billion per month in FICA tax. Under Gohmert's proposed plan, all of these taxes would not be paid during January and February of 2009, and the money would stay in the hands of American taxpayers - the ones who best know where economic stimulus should be targeted. Gohmert's two month tax holiday would stimulate the economy while costing less than the remainder of the Paulson-Pelosi bailout plan.
The socialist Nancy Pelosi wants another $800 billion in economic bailout money. More money wasted as the 1st $350 billion has been. If that $800 billion was added to the $350 billion it would be enough money for a 7 month tax holiday for every hard working American taxpayer.
Rep. Gohmert is currently preparing a bill to declare the tax holiday for January and February of 2009 and is also gathering support at the same time. He said, “We can save more home mortgages, increase employment, and boost economic growth for a lower price tag with this plan than with any centralized bureaucratic program, all by giving the power back to the taxpayers. I am demanding that not another penny goes to executive bailouts, but these billions of taxpayer dollars should go to the taxpayers who earned them."

Louie Gohmert has the right idea; let the individual determine where best to place their income. Problematic, however, is the fact that states - beginning with California, of course - are already lined up for their 'promised land' handouts. California is demanding billions just to keep afloat; if memory serves, this is not the first time they have been fiscally devastated. Governors from around the country are planning a convention to meet with Obameister's economic team and with heartfelt rhetoric and gladhanding, get their share of the pie. Of late, even counties, cities, and burgs are yammering for the trickle-down of financial support.
So, where is the Fed going to come up with all this money? We, the taxpayers, of course! In my opinion, this incentive - while intelligent and effective - would do one of two things: enable the working class to boost the economy, thereby causing more groundswell movements toward true capitalism or begin a litany of complaints from the non-working class. Why? If we aren't paying them for 2 months (and our taxes ARE their paychecks), do you think they will take that with a smile? Do you know of any welfare recipients who would graciously accept no or reduced paychecks for 2 months? While it is certain that 2 months of our not paying taxes will not totally decimate available funds - government will certainly 'rob Peter to pay Paul' - it will put a serious dent in the system once promised to the American people as a way for us to invest our own money for our own future.
Sadly, Gohmert's plan will never see the light of reality; just as a purchase tax will never replace income tax, the Obafuhrer will never morph into a conservative capitalist (except with his own checkbook, of course), and Pelosi will never grow a brain.
Give up billions to the discretion of the earners? The socialists must be shuddering at the very thought of such "dangerous" suggestions...
