Adam Putnum currently serving as a Representative in the 12th District of Florida. He was born July 31, 1974 in Bartow, Fl. He assumed his office in January 2001. He is married to Melissa Putnum and they have 4 children. He attended the University of Florida, where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1995.

Adam H. Putnam has represented the people of Florida's 12th District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2001, when at the age of 26 he became one of the youngest members of Congress in history. Today, no longer the youngest, he has risen to become the chairman of the Republican Conference, third-highest ranking post in his party’s leadership. He is also a member of the Committee on Financial Services, which oversees all components of the nation’s housing and financial services sectors.

A fifth generation Floridian, Adam brings to Capitol Hill the common sense values he learned growing up in a farming family. He has led improvements to a wide array of laws affecting Floridians, ranging from agriculture and children to small business and social security. During his time in Congress, Adam has served as a member of the committees on Agriculture, Budget, Government Reform, and the powerful committee on Rules. In 2003, was selected to lead the subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Census, making him the youngest subcommittee chairman since World War II. In that post, he worked to reduce the risk of cyberterrorism, and was responsible for legislation that strengthened federal computer security.

Before being elected by his peers to chair the Republican Conference, Adam served as the chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, another leadership post. As Conference Chairman, he is responsible for being his party’s chief spokesman, but Adam describes it as “turning the lights back on in the Idea Factory. We can’t just say ‘no,’ we have to provide constructive ideas to move the nation forward.”

Here is where Rep. Putnum stands on some of these issues:

He is Pro-life
He is rated 100% by the Christian Coalition.
He has a Pro-gun voting record. Rated A by the NRA
He is against same sex marriages
He has a Pro-business voting record
He has a Hard on Drugs stance
He has taken a sealed border stance on immigration.

In a recent interview during he Presidential campaign Putnum when asked about the Democrats plan to tax those about $150,000 a year in income:

"Well, you know, we have a track record of reforming the tax code and lowering the tax burden on all Americans, not picking winners and losers. You see, their fundamental economic policy is to pick winners and losers. And it's a farce that they can draw some line in the sand and say, "Everyone above this line has an obligation to pay more." We believe that, if you want to fundamentally keep the economy strong, allow us to compete in a global marketplace, you want to keep the tax burden low, you want to keep the regulatory burden in check, and allow people by their own initiative to pursue their piece of the American dream."

Rep.Adam Putnum, is on our list of up and coming Conservatives who we believe will change the face of the Republican Party and bring back the conservative values and principles that made the Republican Party so great and which will make it great once more!
