Sen. Burr in talking about the $700 Billion Bailout that he voted for, specifically reacting to Paulson's announcement last Wednesday that the agency will now look to help entities other than banks that offer credit card loans, student loans and car loans said;

"There's not transparency in what [Paulson] is doing," Burr said this week. "This is not what I think Congress signed off on, and if he feels he's got the flexibility, we need to look at removing some of the flexibility." "We are concerned that the program has been fundamentally changed from its original intent," he went on to say "Congress never intended for the TARP [Troubled Asset Relief Program]  to be a blank check that could be spent with unlimited discretion,"

Here is how Sen. Burr stands on some of the issues:

He is Pro-Life
He is against same sex marriage
He supports balanced budget amendment and line item veto
He has a Pro- business voting record
He has a Pro-family voting record
He has a Pro-gun rights voting record
He takes a sealed border stance on Immigration

Burr has established himself as an effective legislator on health care issues and has worked with his colleagues to restore accountability and fiscal discipline to the federal government. One of Sen. Burrs' first major legislative achievements was passage of H.R. 1411 the Food and Drug Modernization Act of 1997. The “Burr Bill” made significant improvements to the federal regulation of food, drugs, and medical devices, while cutting through government red tape to bring life-saving medicine to the marketplace.

Sen. Burr, is on our list of up and coming conservatives and we believe he can and will change the face of the Republican Party and bring back the conservative values and principles that made the Republican Party so great and which will make it great once more!
