Congress Tells You To Tighten Your Belt And They Get A Raise
As America suffers, Congress and President elect Barack Hussein Obama tell us that it will get worse. At the same time Congress is quietly getting a $4,700 raise. It must be for all the hard work they do, like taking a 5 week vacation when gas prices are going through the roof and saying there’s nothing we can do. Correction, Socialist Nancy Pelosi didn’t want to do anything, she wanted America to suffer.
The same Congress that caused the economic crisis now wants a raise, the same Congress who let America suffer all summer wants a raise. The same Congress that other than run their collective mouths have done very little to correct the economic crisis. In fact it is the same Congress that caused the economic crisis who now wants a raise.
Congress years ago cleverly found a way to hide raises. They get an automatic raise each January unless they pass legislation to stop it. Yes, the only way NOT to get a raise is to vote to rescind the automatic raise. No one is raising their hand to rescind, no Congress is sitting quietly and they will get a raise while America suffers from their past mistakes.
Congress is among the top 6% in wages now. That doesn’t include what they make from speeches and other outside interests. They now make $169,300 and this new raise will take them to $174,000. The top 6% in pay now get a raise as America suffers. It must be their reward for corruption and malfeasance.
Senior citizens on social security, that they paid into their whole life will get an average of $756 for the year. Congress will get $4,000 more than the senior citizens that worked hard their whole life.
Stop them America. Tell Congress they don’t deserve a raise. They should take a dollar a year like they tell corporate officers to do. Why is it they are exempt from the current economic conditions?
