Retirees Obama Wants You to Pay
President-elect Barack Hussein Obama said Wednesday that overhauling Social Security and Medicare would be “a central part” of his administration’s efforts to contain federal spending. Senior citizens and AARP have been leading supporters of the Socialist Democrats for years. One of the main reasons has been Social Security. For over 30 years the socialist Democrats scared the elderly by telling them the Republicans would cut their retirement. Now they are going to leanr, NO it’s the socialist democrats that are after your retirement money.
SpeakNowAmerica.org objects to the socialist main stream press referring to Social Security as an entitlement. In reality trying to tell people that Social Security is like welfare and other government socialist give away programs is wrong. People pay into the Social Security system to get it back when they retire; they aren’t getting a free ride. The socialist Democrats and socialist main stream press keeps telling us Social Security is running out of money, they keep saying we need to raise the rate and ceiling on income. That was done before and created a huge surplus from which they have continued to steal from for years to try to balance the budget. Further, now they want to cut retirees benefits.
When the Social Security bill was passed the amount over what was being paid out went into a special fund. The government could borrow from the fund and issue treasury bonds. The money was supposed to be paid back with interest. The socialist Democrats saw all that money and couldn’t resist getting it. They had all kinds of great society programs benefitting those who have never worked and the socialist Democrats needed to pay for them. With a slight of hand bill the socialist Democrats put Social Security funds in the general budget and started spending them. Gone was the savings account and interest paid by the government for using YOUR retirement money.
Socialist Obama is counting on his political capital and the economic crisis to “overhaul” Social Security. Workers who are anxious about their evaporated 401(k) accounts might be more willing to accept a modest sacrifice - in payroll tax or future benefits - to keep the system solvent. The overhaul needs to take the dollars paid by working Americans and their employers out of the budget. Let the government borrow and pay interest on the money. FICA was never meant to be spent on anything but retirement benefits.
America you and your employer also pay into Medicare for the retired elderly. The overage of what is paid in and what is paid out of your Medicare contributions shouldn’t be in the general fund either. This money should also be put in a special fund the government can borrow from and pay interest. Also as with ALL government programs fraud is rampant in Medicare and it’s time to eliminate that fraud. Put Doctors, government workers, and recipients that cheat in jail and the fraud will go away. Have tough penalties and enforce them, that is the only way to reduce the faud.
The AARP and the socialist main stream media also needs to start telling the truth. The problems with Social Security and Medicare are caused by government manipulation of funds and fraud.
