Socialist Democrats & Wilderness Protection

Bill Filled With Pork

The socialist Harry Reid is at work again.  Now Reid is trying to sneak a bill through the Senate on a Sunday.  The bill was dead last year after objections from Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., who said spending on the bill was excessive, and that the bill is filled with pork as usual.

No one objects to a bill for real wilderness protection.  I spent last Saturday myself  in the wilderness and loved it as I always do.  Any bill truly protecting the wilderness is admirable, we need to protect wilderness for ourselves and for future generations.

However, what the socialist Democrats do is use a bill, a good bill on wilderness protection and then add pork to it then they try to get it passed in the dark.  I thought we were supposed to have change?  Socialist Harry Reid is seeking a rare Sunday vote in an apparent effort to punish Coburn and antagonize his GOP colleagues. The socialist Democrats haven’t changed a bit there are more attempts at sleight of hand and backroom shenanigans.

In a statement, Coburn said the "earmark-laden" i.e. PORK laden measure "makes a mockery of voters' hopes for change."  For example, Coburn said, the bill includes $3 million for a "road to nowhere" through the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and $460 million for a water project designed to save 500 salmon in California.

America in these economic times the socialist Democrats want to spend $460 million dollars for a water project they think might save 500 salmon.  They get a pay raise and you get a bill for $460 million dollars.  That is change we don’t need.
