Over Half a Million Attend Tax Day Tea Parties Across the USA!
Liberal response to the Tea Parties, Lame, Uninformed, Scared & Angry.
Even though it has been reported that more than a half of a million people attended the Tax day Tea parties the main stream media, as predicted had little or no coverage of the events that took place in an estimated 700+ cities.
The New York Times and The Boston Globe ignored the "Tea Parties" altogether. ABC and CBS reporters were nowhere to be found in the crowds. However, in fairness we have to let you know that ABC News did a short report on the air and with a serious face reported that "President Obama was unaware of the tea parties" Uh huh.....
NBC, on the other hand, simply made obscene references -- using a tea-related colloquialism to express its corporate disgust with America's founding principles and drumroll please .............by far CNN took the cake with this report by reporter Susan Roesgen. Her total disregard for reporting and blatant display of bias was not only unprofessional it made her an embarassment to the entire journalism profession.
Regardless of the lame comments that were being said by fearful liberals it was easy enough to look around and see that yes there were critcs of President Barack Obama but of equal concern to many was the way the Republicans under President George W. Bush spent federal dollars like drunken sailors. People are downright angry over the spending orgies of both the Democrats and the Republicans who are feasting together on taxpayers hard earned tax dollars. That is what brought people out by the thousands, not Fox News.
Attendee Mike Lennox at the Washington Protest said this:
"What critics of this don't understand is that we're upset with President Obama, yes, but also upset with Bush administration bailouts, and how Obama has taken that and compounded it with all his spending, Democrat, Republican, I don't care about the excuses. What we're tired of is all the lies and the corruption," Lennox said.
Another Tea Party Organizer said :
"The protest is about the pork in the stimulus bill. That's what initially started it. But as you talk to people here, it becomes very personal. People have told me stories about how they've lost their jobs, have small businesses have closed. They've told me how their sons or daughters are in the military and how they fear because the military's not becoming fully funded, that they fear for their sons' and daughters' lives. It's very, very personal. "
Lorie Byrd a Tea Party organizer wrote in her blog the day after the tea parties this:
"When people turned out all over the country in the thousands to attend tea parties, the explanation from critics was that the protests were from "fake" grassroots, not "real" grassroots. Those people didn't get in their cars, take time off from work, find parking in downtown cities, show up in the rain and snow etc. on their own. NOOOOO! Fox News did it all. Fox somehow has control over those people and forced them, against their will, to go to the trouble to make signs, interrupt their normal activities, pack up the kids and their diaper bags and strollers, travel to their nearest tea party site, find a parking space, walk to the protest area and raise their signs and their voices. No wonder they fear Fox so much. Fox's control over their viewers is un-freaking-believable. And Fox is the number one cable channel." Imagine that......
The Wall Street Journal in their coverage of the day wrote a fair, honest and unbiased report, as journalism is meant to be.
"Today American taxpayers in more than 300 locations in all 50 states will hold rallies -- dubbed "tea parties" -- to protest higher taxes and out-of-control government spending. There is no political party behind these rallies, no grand right-wing conspiracy, not even a 501(c) group like MoveOn.org."
"So who's behind the Tax Day tea parties? Ordinary folks who are using the power of the Internet to organize. For a number of years, techno-geeks have been organizing "flash crowds" -- groups of people, coordinated by text or cellphone, who converge on a particular location and then do something silly, like the pillow fights that popped up in 50 cities earlier this month. This is part of a general phenomenon dubbed "Smart Mobs" by Howard Rheingold, author of a book by the same title, in which modern communications and social-networking technologies allow quick coordination among large numbers of people who don't know each other."
There's good news and bad news in this phenomenon for establishment politicians. The good news for Republicans is that, while the Republican Party flounders in its response to the Obama presidency and its programs, millions of Americans are getting organized on their own. The bad news is that those Americans, despite their opposition to President Obama's policies, aren't especially friendly to the GOP.
When Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele asked to speak at the Chicago tea party, his request was politely refused by the organizers: "With regards to stage time, we respectfully must inform Chairman Steele that RNC officials are welcome to participate in the rally itself, but we prefer to limit stage time to those who are not elected officials, both in Government as well as political parties. This is an opportunity for Americans to speak, and elected officials to listen, not the other way around."
Even though ABC News reported that the President had no knowledge about these tea parties the same could not be said for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi who was happy to make a statement :
We say, Madam Speaker maybe you could have taken the time to attend a tea party and actually get first hand knowledge of the issues that protesters had on their minds instead of shooting off your mouth. It was like your actually NOT reading a spending bill before voting on it? Maybe that is what got us where we are today?
We are very pleased to announce that we have heard of no arrests, no stores were looted, no overturned cars, no police threatened. Only the one instance where someone threw a box of tea bags on the White House lawn. Sounds so unradical doesn't it???
America, the Tax Day Tea Parties events showed that you can stand up and be counted America! You can make a difference! As much as the liberals and the liberal main stream media don't want to report about it they know that the people in this country are no longer going to lay down and roll over while the politicians have a spending hay day with our hard earned tax dollars. It showed that we are a force to be reckoned with. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated on new events and future tea parties.
If you have a tea party story you would like to share or pictures we would like to hear it and see them. Please send them to YourVoice@speaknowamerica.org
