Slain Police Officer Program Slashed By Socialist Obama

Socialist Barack Hussein Obama's proposed budget calls for cuts to the Public Safety Officers’ Death Benefits Program. Socialist Obama plans to cut $50 million from the modest $110 million program.

"Any family member who is eligible for benefits under this program will receive them," said Justice Department spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz. The socialist Obama's administration says they are making reductions because "claims are anticipated to decrease." This is contrary to the fact that police officer killings are up 21% so far in 2009.

"It makes us kind of nervous. While we aren't panicking, it certainly has increased our concern, coming a week before National Police Week," said Suzie Sawyer, executive director of Concerns of Police Survivors.

The program pays benefits of more than $300,000 to the survivors of a safety officer killed in the line of duty.  There were 133 police officers killed in the line of duty last year.

How cold and callous is socialist Obama and his administration. He buys votes from the non-workers by handing them our tax dollars. But while giving our tax dollars to non-workers he will cut funds to help families of slain police officers.

The proposal is being made just days before Attorney General Eric Holder is expected to attend ceremonies in Washington honoring slain officers. We already know socialist Eric Holder supports terrorists and not honest Americans who have helped keep our country safe. If Eric Holder was an honorable man he would decline to attend ceremonies honoring slain officers. Socialist Holder is a disgrace to all patriotic Americans and those brave men and women who have lost their lives protecting other Americans.
