Saving America Part 14


The pork in all bills has to be eliminated.  Billions of dollars of taxpayer money is wasted every year for Representatives and Senators to buy votes. The concept is simple yet very harmful to the overall budget.  As the saying goes a billion here and a billion there and all was said and you’re talking real money.

Congressman sponsor legislation and want it to pass and become law of the land.  As with the stimulus, omnibus, cap and trade, and healthcare bills many are very bad legislation and in order to get the needed votes the sponsors of the bills then buy other Congressman’s vote for the bill by adding pork for them.

The pork is bad for America for several reasons.  If the pork is attached to a good bill it shouldn’t need work to get the votes needed to pass.  If your Representatives and Senators won’t vote for good legislation you can take care of that Congressman in the next election cycle.

Pork wastes tax dollars.  Those are dollars hardworking Americans have paid to the federal government.  There’s too much waste in government now without our Congressmen needlessly adding to it.

More importantly the pork only helps small groups, it does nothing to help the economy or create real jobs in America.  Many of the pork earmarks can be done for much less by anyone with common sense.  Some of the pork is pure waste that history shows accomplish nothing. 

These congressmen are buying votes with this wasteful pork or at times they are paying back large campaign contributors with these pork projects.  Nothing beneficial to the American economy comes from them.

Now we have a runaway deficit which grows daily.  More people are losing their jobs daily and the economy is declining rapidly. Our Representatives and Senators are doing nothing to help with the unemployment or trying to improve employment prospects.  Likewise they’re doing nothing to help improve the economy or decrease the deficit.  Yet with each bill they increase the deficit with wasteful pork projects.

America let your Representatives and Senators know that the days of pork are over.  Tell them clearly we need people in Congress who are going to work for us.  Elected officials that will work to pay off the deficit, improve the economy, and lower unemployment.

The pork projects do just the opposite wasting hard earned American taxpayer money.  Now’s the time for our Congressmen to stop wasting tax dollars with pork projects.
