David Axelrod Conflict Of Interest

Obama Change And Transparency Is Corruption

Elitist progressive liberal Barack Hussein Obama campaigned on change and transparency.  So far the change is the most corrupt administration in modern history.  Since day 1 Obama appointees have shown total lack of concern for the law.  Tax evaders and people under corruption investigations abound in positions and in nominees who removed themselves from consideration.

Now David Axelrod “Mr. Astroturfer” has some ethical and legal questions to answer.  His Ask Public Strategies became a master at setting up what appeared to be grass-roots pressure groups the practice is called "astroturfing” to pressure governments or industry to do their bidding.

Elitist progressive liberal Axelrod was President and sole shareholder of AKPD from 1985 until he sold his interest after Obama’s victory, government records show. The firm owes Axelrod $2 million, which it’s due to pay in installments beginning Dec. 31. Axelrod’s son, Michael, still works there. The firm’s Web site continues to feature David Axelrod’s work on the Obama campaign.

Axelrod's former firm is currently receiving huge fees "from Healthy Economy Now, a coalition that includes the Washington-based Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA," as well as AARP, the SEIU and other big players in the health care debate.

This year, AKPD and GMMB received $12 million in advertising business from Healthy Economy Now, a coalition that includes the Washington-based Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA, that is seeking to build support for a health-care overhaul, said the coalition’s spokesman, Jeremy Van Ess.   Jim Margolis, an Obama strategist, is a partner at Washington-based GMMB Campaign Group.

If Axelrod has been negotiating any part of any deal involving any of these players which are funneling money to the firm that owes him money, or if he is advising the President on the deals with any of these groups, that's a conflict of interest.  Laundering the money through a "coalition" doesn't remove the conflict much less the appearance of impropriety.  The coalition is in effect partially funding David Axelrod's severance package though its members might  have done so unknowingly.

These forthcoming payments to Axelrod are much more significant than the sort of "retained ties” that Democrats blasted Dick Cheney for vis-a-vis Halliburton even though there was no high level negotiations between the vice president and his former company.

On Tuesday, the House Republican Conference published a one-page talking points memo that says, "Even as President Obama campaigned on a platform of change and transparency, recent dealings between the pharmaceutical industry and the administration raise serious questions as to whether the drug lobby is helping to bankroll a multimillion dollar severance package for one of the President’s senior advisors."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on Tuesday called the claim that Axelrod will personally benefit from the ad deal "ridiculous."

If it was Karl Rove in a similar set of circumstances, the blogs and some in the elitist progressive liberal main stream media would already be demanding a special prosecutor.  There are lots of questions for Mr. Axelrod.  "Have you lawyered up?"
America this is one more example of the corruption in elitist progressive Obama’s Administration.  The list keeps growing and this is only month 7 of Obama’s term.  Will the elitist progressive liberal main stream media ever report the truth about Obama?
