Obamacare Death Panels Will Be Nationwide

Health officials in Florida are drawing up guidelines in case of a severe N1H1 swine flu epidemic.  These guidelines are literally death panel rules as to who will and won’t get medical care in the hospitals.  This is the start of the Obamacare health care world.

Florida Surgeon General Ana M. Viamonte Ros sent the draft guidelines, which already had undergone a series of internal revisions, to 16 state medical organizations for comment.  The state has not yet publicized the guidelines or solicited input from the general public.

In some cases H1N1 swine flu causes severe respiratory illnesses.  People who need ventilators and are deprived of them could die without the breathing help the machines provide.  The guidelines specify who should get respirators if a shortage occurs.

The Florida plan recommends barring patients with incurable cancer, end-stage multiple sclerosis and other conditions from being admitted to hospitals if the state is overwhelmed by flu cases.  The guideline calls for doctors to remove patients with a poor prognosis from ventilators to treat those with better chances of survival. That decision would be made by each hospital.

The people who need ventilators and are deprived of them could die without the breathing help the machines provide.  The guidelines are for what to do if the number of severely ill people needing ventilators and other treatment dramatically exceeds what is available.

In the case of a much more severe scenario, Florida’s draft guidelines would call for hospitals to turn away anyone whose doctor has signed a “Do Not Resuscitate” order, which instructs rescuers not to revive a patient whose heartbeat or breathing stops. A recent report from a panel of national experts convened by the Institute of Medicine urged states not to use DNR orders for this purpose, because they reflect preferences and foresight about end-of-life planning “more than an accurate estimate of survival.”

America this is the beginning of death panels.  Decisions being made about who can and can’t live.  The exact same type of guidelines in some versions of Obamacare health care.  Bureaucrats will decide who will and who won’t live.

Under Obamacare health care services will be rationed.  Socialized health care is predicated on health care rationing. When you ration health care you can call it what you want it is a death panels.  Senior citizens, handicapped, and severely ill people won’t receive the care they do now.  In elitist progressive Obama’s own words they’ll have to “take a pill.”
