The Harry Reid Bill No One Has Seen

Saturday the House of Representatives passed their version of socialized health care for America.  Obamacare passed by 220 to 215.  Now in the near future the Senate will be asked to vote for the secret Harry Reid Obamacare bill.

America in the last few weeks have been exposed to the take no prisoners, hide from America Harry Reid, Rahm Emanuel, and a few select additional elitist progressive Democrats crafting the Obamacare bill they want.  Obama and the Democrats have decided they don’t care what the people they work for (American taxpayers) want.  They have decided what they want and American be damned.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is facing dissent in the Democratic ranks over his health-care strategy, leaving him struggling to meet a Christmas deadline and fielding White House pressure to get the bill done.  

Olympia Snowe (R-ME), the one possible Republican vote, described the secrecy of the process as “a prescription for confusion and disaster.  It should have been far different than the way in which it's been handled. No one has ever understood this merger process," Snowe said. "Now we are facing the prospect of a unified bill that didn’t come out of either committee that, frankly, has been designed in the cloak of secrecy and darkness."

“People were concerned, felt that that was probably the wrong approach,” said Sen. Ben Nelson (D-N who attended the meeting. “But, you know, we’ve elected the leader as our leader. If that’s what he chooses to do then we’ll obviously be, we’ll face it, and it may make the difference on whether we support [it].”

Why a Christmas deadline?  Obamacare socialized health care won’t go into effect until 2013.  That coincidentally is after Obama’s planned reelection.  Obama lets young American heroes die in Afghanistan and 2 ½ months later still can’t make a decision wether to send more troops as requested.  But Congress is supposed to pass Obamacare without knowing what’s in it overnight.

"Now it falls on the United States Senate to take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people, and I'm absolutely confident that they will," Obama said. "I'm equally convinced that on the day that we gather here at the White House and I sign the comprehensive health insurance reform legislation into law, they'll be able to join their House colleagues and say this was their finest moment in public service."

Obama can’t save heroic young military men and women but he will sign a bill that he never read.  Just as he signed the stimulus bill that isn’t working.   Just as he had a ‘cash for clunkers’ program that cost taxpayers billions and did nothing for the economy.  It cost over $10,000 per car sold. How much will this Obamacare boondoggle cost?

We haven’t lost America.  There are still 3 more very crucial votes.  Now more than at any time we have to stay engaged and keep the pressure on our Representatives and Senators.
