Liberal Scared Of Sarah Palin Going Rogue
Did They Think Sarah Palin Would Just Go Away?
With no one holding the reigns, no one telling her what she can and cannot say Sarah Palin has left the gate and is off and running with her book Going Rogue" hitting bookshelves today!
Palin appearing in a series of interviews in anticaption of the 413 page book release is refreshed, does not appear to be nervous in any way and is happy to answer any questions asked of her.
In her book Sarah Palin talks about the problems between herself and the McCain staff. In fact the title of her book comes from that time, when the campaign staff thought she did not toe the line she was thought to be " Going Rogue".
She tells how they tried to control every aspect of her life. Of course, top aides to Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign hit back at Sarah Palin Friday and Saturday, calling the former vice presidential nominee’s soon-to-be-released book “revisionist and self serving” “fiction.”
Campaign manager Steve Schmidt, who emerges as Palin’s nemesis in the book, “Going Rogue,” told POLITICO Saturday that Palin's charges about him were made up.
"It's all fiction," he said.
One excerpt from the book comes when Palin questions campaign manager Steve Schmidt on his mentioning her nutrition because some staffers thought she was losing weight:
“I'm a forty-four year old, healthy, athletic woman raising five kids and governing a large state, I thought as his words faded into a background buzz. Sir, I really don't know you yet. But you've told me how to dress, what to say, who to talk to, a lot of people not to talk to, who my heroes are supposed to be and we're still losing. Now you're going to tell me what to eat?”
According to excerpts from copies obtained by media outlets, Palin charges that the staffers assigned to her by McCain’s team blocked her from speaking to the press aboard the campaign plane. And she asserts that former McCain communications aide Nicole Wallace ‘pushed’ her to do a September 2008 interview with CBS’s Katie Couric that resulted in serious damage to the former Alaska governor’s image.
“Aboard the campaign plane I was within twenty-five feet of reporters for hours on end. Headquarters’ strategy was that I should not go to the back of the aircraft and talk to the press,” Palin wrote, according to an excerpt that appeared Friday on the Drudge Report website. “At first this was subtle, but as the campaign wore on, [campaign aides] Tracey [Schmitt] or Tucker [Eskew] would call headquarters to request permission, and someone in DC would respond, ‘No! Absolutely not—block her if she tries to go back.’”
Perhaps if they let Sarah be Sarah things would have turned out entirely different.
What we are seeing now on Oprah, Barbara Walters and other media outlets is the real Sarah Palin. She is believable, she has that same sense of relatability that she had during the campaign. She is touchable, she makes us all feel like she is one of us. That is a rare breed of politician that we say can do that. Do any of us even remotely relate to Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank or Chris Dodd?
Palin's interview with Oprah was without attack, Oprah acted as the gracious host and even though she openly pointed out her support for Barack Obama she clearly had no bad feelings for Sarah Palin.
A few excerpts from the interview:
Palin said she found prepping for the vice-presidential debate onerous, in the sense that she thought the McCain campaign was force-feeding her answers to various questions. At one point, McCain’s good friend Sen. Joe Lieberman (I) of Connecticut came into the darkened hotel room where aides was peppering her with data.
Senator Lieberman said that the effort was “overly scripted,” and threw everybody out of the room, Palin told Oprah.
According to Palin, Liebrman said, “I think I know you well enough already, Gov. Palin, to know that you need to be free, you need some liberty, you need to speak from the heart.”
Lieberman told her to trust herself and have fun.
“Those things were so simplistic but so absolutely real and helpful at the time,” said Palin. “I was so thankful for his words.”
Great advice Joe!

So what comes next for Sarah Palin? It is unknown as she has not been clear on her future plans. We know that there are still plenty out there that feel threatened by her presence and will continue to try to destroy her.
The Associated Press has already begun an assault and it has been reported by Palin that "they have 11 writers engaged in this opposition research, er, 'fact checking' research!" Palin continued. "Imagine that 11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to "fact check" what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hassan's associations. "
The AP is still bringing up the same questions brought up during the campaign. Why they would spend the time on this is anyones guess but we are willing to assume it has something to do with her potential in the future political arena.
Stay tuned, we have only just begun to meet the Real Sarah Palin!
