Lott Resigned Will Reid Show Character And Resign?

Our sister blog SpeakNowConservatives on January 7th had an article ‘Are The Democrats Segregationists?’ .    In a new book we now have racists’ remarks by Harry Reid.  Will the elitist progressive main stream media demand and socialist Democrats demand Reid’s resignation as they did for Trent Lott’s in 2002?

A new book “Game Change” by   journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann has quotes from socialist Harry Reid that if said by a conservative would be considered racist.  "He [Reid] was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,' " Halperin and Heilemann say.

The book goes on sale Tuesday, but Reid is making apologies all over the country now.  In a statement to CNN, Reid said, "I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words.  I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments."

The senator called Obama Saturday afternoon to apologize for the racially insensitive remarks.  "Harry Reid called me today and apologized for an unfortunate comment reported today," Obama said in a statement.

"I accepted Harry's apology without question because I've known him for years, I've seen the passionate leadership he's shown on issues of social justice and I know what's in his heart. As far as I am concerned, the book is closed."

Socialist Reid in 2002 agreed with former Senator Trent Lott's (R-MS) decision to resign his leadership role after Lott made what some felt were racist remarks at former Sen. Strom Thurmond's 100th birthday party.  "He had no alternative," said Reid at the time claiming, "If you tell ethnic jokes in the backroom, it's that much easier to say ethnic things publicly. I've always practiced how I play."

It’s time for the socialist Democrats and main stream media to step up if they aren’t racists.  Reid said Lott had ‘no alternative’ than to resign his leadership role.  It’s time for Reid to step down.  It’s time for the Democrats and main stream media to demand Reid step down, unless they agree with him and are as racist as Reid.

The people of Nevada deserve better representation.  The people of America deserve better leadership.  Reid should step down now.
