Why Not Cut Budget Now?

Socialist Barack Hussein Obama will ask for a budget freeze in his State of The Union address starting in 2011. Some of those agencies could get increases, others would have to face cuts; such programs got an almost 10 percent increase this year. The federal budget total was $3.5 trillion.  Why in a recession and the economy so bad were these agencies given a 10% increase? 

Why were federal employees given a 2% pay raise with so many people losing their jobs?  Why in the last year have more than 1,700 government employees income been raised to $170,000 or more? There weren’t 1,700 federal employees making $170,000 when Bush left office.

The spending freeze would apply to a relatively small portion of the federal budget, affecting a $477 billion pot of money available for domestic agencies whose budgets are approved by Congress each year. The savings would be small perhaps $10 billion to $15 billion, one official said.  The Pentagon, veterans programs, foreign aid and the Homeland Security Department would be exempt from the freeze.

The Obama administration is under considerable pressure to cut deficits — the red ink hit a record $1.4 trillion this year — or at least keep them from growing.  Obama’s proposals are window dressing.  Roll back federal employee pay to December 2008 levels.  Cut all discretionary budgets 10% from 2008 budgets.  Do it now not a year from now.

 Most Americans didn’t get any pay raise this year.  Why are federal employees getting pay raises?  Most of us are thankful to still have a job.  Obama and Congress keep spending like they have an endless supply of our hard earned money.

These advance proposals do nothing to help the employment situation.  There is nothing out thus far that will help save or create 1 job.  This is nothing but feel good window dressing,
