Gas Prices On The Rise

Cap And Tax Will Make Prices Higher

Will Senators Graham, Kerry, and Lieberman introduce a new gas tax as part of their cap and tax bill? Now though they are calling it energy and climate legislation. By any name it is another socialist piece of legislation to destroy the American economy and redistribute our wealth to 3rd world countries.

Senator Graham’s office this past week said the Senator would not introduce legislation with a gas tax increase. Is Graham playing the semantics word game that socialist Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats like to play? It is a tax but they call it something else.

The legislation we expect to see will nevertheless contain new gas taxes. For the last several weeks it has been widely reported in the media that the legislation will contain new taxes on gas, diesel, and other transportation fuels. These will be assessed in the form of a fee or other costs imposed on oil companies, which will then be passed on to consumers in the form of higher gas prices. A tax by any other name is still a tax.

If consumers pay higher fuel prices due to a requirement of government, it is a tax, whether it is imposed indirectly at the wholesale level of the oil company and then passed on to consumers in the form of higher gas prices, or directly at the retail level of the average American buying gas at the local gas station. New taxes on gas, diesel and other transportation fuels, will kill jobs and stagnate economic growth.

The Senators want to play the word game and say it’s not a tax. They say it’s a new fee on oil companies. The oil companies will pass new fees on to their customers. That is a tax hike any way you look at it.

With the average gallon of gas already 80 cents higher than a year ago, it is not surprising that the vast majority of Americans oppose new gas taxes, which at least one organization has estimated could increase the cost of gas by 27 cents per gallon.

In 2008 when gas prices were choking the economy and were in the $4 range Obama brazenly said he saw nothing wrong with $4 gas. He said then that it had gone to $4 to quickly and that is why people were upset. Obama sees nothing wrong with you paying more taxes on gas.

The economy is stagnant and we have record high unemployment. All Obama and the Democrats seem to want is higher unemployment and higher prices for necessities like gas. Obama will destroy America’s economy if we don’t unite and let them know that we have had enough.

Let your Senators and Representatives know that we know the global warming is a hoax. We can make improvements on the environment without destroying America in the process.
