McCain Wakes Up About Illegal Aliens

Americans shouldn’t have to wait on Congress to start enforcing the laws on the books. Governor Brewer should be applauded for preserving rule of law and taking the power out of Washington to direct the debate on immigration reform. The federal government should listen clearly: state and local governments don’t like what the socialist Democrats are offering.

In terms of resources and in terms of political will, it has become abundantly clear that the federal government refuses to make the right decisions in terms of enforcing the law and making the critical reforms necessary to drive down the illegal alien problem. Sadly, efforts in Congress have been more about gaining political votes through an unnecessary amnesty than on honest and effective reforms.

When Governor Jan Brewer signed Arizona’s illegal immigration law socialist Barack Hussein Obama described the law as “misguided” and implied that Arizona was being “irresponsible” by trying to protect its lawful citizens.

Surprising John McCain responded to Obama quickly and to the point.

“If the President doesn’t like what the Arizona Legislature and Governor may be doing, then I call on the President to immediately call for the dispatch of 3,000 National Guard troops to our border and mandate that 3,000 additional Border Patrol [officers] be sent to our border as well,” McCain said at a news conference Friday in downtown Phoenix, according to a report in the Arizona Republic.

“And that way, the state of Arizona will not have to enact legislation which they have to do because of the federal government’s failure to carry out its responsibilities, which is to secure the borders.”

The time is now to strengthen our borders and our immigration laws.  The socialist Obama and Democrats want to give over 12 million illegal aliens amnesty.  The reason is simple.  They want to buy votes by giving the illegal aliens amnesty.
