America, The Debt, The Economy Part II

Actions We Must Take To Save Our Freedom

America didn’t get in these financial straits overnight. We won’t get out of them overnight either.  Action needs to be taken now to save our economy and our freedom.

In Part I there was 12 things that need to be done immediately.  Part II addresses longer range changes to keep the economy strong and hopefully prevent the repeat of the last two years.

ü Put Congress on a strict budget.  Eliminate all the freebies.  Give each Congressman $1.5 million to run their office and district.  This will be to cover all payrolls including theirs, all benefits, and all office expenses.

ü The heads of committees and minority leaders get an additional one half million dollars for all committee expenses - including supplies, wages, and benefits.

ü Eliminate the Department of Education and the EPA.  The needed parts of those departments will be moved into other Departments.

ü Eliminate all duplication of programs between different agencies.

ü Reduce federal pay and benefits an additional 10%.  Starting in 2014 federal pay can be adjusted for inflation.

ü Reduce the number of federal employees by another 10%.

ü Pass legislation to prevent any czars.  They must be vetted and voted on as others are.

ü Eliminate out of session appointments to bypass vetting and voting on by the Senate.

ü Open bidding and open all oil fields in Alaska, the contiguous 48, and offshore.

ü Strict standards and oversight of oil wells.

ü All royalties from bids and royalties on oil and natural gas will be placed in a special trust fund for social security and Medicare.

ü Make nuclear power plants easier to be built.

ü Close the borders.  Deport all illegal aliens.  Enforce strict mandates on sanctuary cities.

ü Term limits for Representatives and Senators.  No more than six years.

ü Congressional retirement changed to be more in line with real Americans retirements.  Make those changes retroactive for retired Congressmen now.

ü No retired Congressman or aides to Congressman can be lobbyists or be employed in another branch of the government when they leave for at least 6 years.

ü Look at changing the tax code.  Eliminating the IRS and going to a consumption tax like the FairTax.  It’s time to quit punishing work and success in America.

All 29 mandates in Part I and Part II are necessary.  We must change the elitist mentality in Washington.  Let’s leave a better America for our children and grandchildren.
