The Political Face Changed Across America

There is much more to the election Tuesday than the House and Senate races.  It was important to gain control of the House and change the complexion of the Senate.  But Barack Obama’s socialist agenda was more soundly rejected across America.

The Republicans picked up at least 61 seats in the House.  The new Congress will mark the first time in over 70 years that the Democrats have less than 200 members in the House.  It was at least that long ago since the party in power has lost that many seats.

In the Senate the Republicans have picked up six seats.  The Senate will be 52 Democrats, 46 Republicans, and 2 Independents.  No longer can Harry Reid force Obama’s socialist agenda through the Senate.

Still the House and Senate aren’t the big changes from the elections.  The elections in the states show how soundly Obama and his socialist agenda were rejected.

On the state level the Democrats lost 7 governors.  And many state Houses and Senates.  This is very important in 2011 and 2012.  In 2011 the House and Senate districts will be redrawn according to population shifts.  In 7 more states now the republicans will redraw the congressional lines.

The socialist agenda was even soundly defeated in Michigan.  The bastion of socialism and Democrat rule is no longer.  The state of Michigan elected a Republican Governor.  Republicans will also control both the House and Senate in Michigan.

The Governorships are also important for the presidential elections in 2012.  In close races having a strong well liked governor can sway votes in the presidential election.

The question now is will Obama understand the thorough rejection of his socialist agenda.  From his news conference it doesn’t seem Obama understands how thorough the thrashing the Democrats and their socialist agenda was.  Obama has already said that Obamacare is off the table.  Does he refuse to accept over 70% of America doesn’t want Obamacare?

Obama is too much of an ideologue to comprehend the majority people are rejecting his agenda.  The narcissistic Obama will say that he just hasn’t explained socialism well enough for the ignorant electorate of America.
