Usual Democrat Tax And Spend Proposal

Barack Obama released a $3.73 trillion budget for fiscal-year 2012 Monday. Despite this year’s $1.6 trillion deficit, Obama still refuses to change course and reduce spending. Under his budget, the size of government will nearly double since the day he took office.

Obama is ignoring both economists’ warnings and the public’s demands for restraint. His explosive growth of government crushes private-sector investment, fuels uncertainty for job creators, and guarantees a less prosperous future for all Americans.

A review of the budget tables in Obama’s proposal indicates that the free spending Obama Administration is going to increase spending and taxes, yet claim that they are freezing spending and cutting the deficit.  Obama’s budget will add $9 trillion in new spending and adds $1.6 trillion in new taxes on small businesses, the job creators of this economy.

The new budget proposes spending increases in selected areas of education, biomedical research, energy efficiency, high-speed rail and other areas Obama has judged to be important to the country's future competitiveness in a global economy.

“Debt on arrival. D-E-B-T on arrival,” Ryan said at a press conference today. “Look, he raises spending everywhere. He raises taxes everywhere, increases borrowing. The trajectory of this budget is in the wrong direction. It would be better if we did nothing than actually pass this budget.”

“Our problem is we are running out of road to keep kicking this can down,” Ryan said. “And so what did we just get today? We got a punt. The president punted on the budget and he punted on the deficit and on the debt. That’s not leadership.”

“When you pull aside the curtain and look at all the smoke and the mirrors, it looks like to me like this thing has about eight dollars of tax increases for one dollar of spending cuts,” he said.

The Wisconsin Republican warned that if the nation fails to tackle its growing fiscal problems soon, then a full-blown crisis awaits.

Obama with his budget proposal had a chance to lead.  Instead he gives us more tax and spend that we can’t afford.
