Is Wisconsin Ground Zero?

Public Employee Unions vs. Taxpayers

Has the illegal work stoppage i.e. strike of Wisconsin teachers become ground zero?  Public employee unions across America have set the agenda for too long.  Governor Scott Walker was elected to stop Wisconsin’s budget hemorrhage.

Governor Walker has proposed that public employee unions pay a larger portion of their health benefits & pension plans as well as limiting their collective bargaining rights to matters of basic wages.  The unions are up in arms over this.  Union philosophy is raise peoples taxes don’t touch our wages or benefits.

Wisconsin isn’t the only state facing severe fiscal problems.  States are now realizing all the gifts that have been given to public employee unions is bankrupting them.  We have seen Governor Chris Christie and his battles with teachers unions.

Other states looking at public employee unions now are New York, Indiana, Ohio, and even the liberal bastion of California.  Taxpayers can’t keep paying for the high rate of pay and benefits for these union members.  States have to balance their budgets.

Wisconsin has become ground zero for the plight of what happens in public employee unions vs. taxpayers.  What happens in Wisconsin will affect all of America.

If Wisconsin folds and the union wins, then the tail will be wagging the dog.  Other states will have a harder time doing what has to be done.  The unions have overreached.  This is where states start regaining control.

If the unions win this battle America loses.
