Conservatism vs. Liberalism

Capitalism vs. socialism and conservatism vs. liberalism is the same.  Liberal, progressive, and socialist are all the same.  All equal big government controlling your life.  Barack Obama and the liberals have two main objectives, power and socialism.

Look at socialisms modern beginnings. You will find it is optimistic and well-intentioned.  History though has taught us that socialism doesn’t work.

Many say big government is what the majority of America wants, that is a democracy the majority rules.  Our founding fathers didn’t find a democracy, they found a republic.  They established a limited government with checks and balances, to help ensure that the reasons of people rather than the selfish passions of a majority hold sway.

In the economic crisis today many are calling for more federal programs and more federal spending.  Barack Obama berates those who have succeeded and calls for more programs and spending much like another FDR New Deal.

There are three basic reasons why socialist programs like FDR’s New Deal didn’t work.

First it didn’t lower unemployment.  Also every dollar spent came from taxpayers. 

Second, taxes became astronomical.  FDR’s Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau with unemployment at 20% said, “We have tried spending money.  We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.”

Third, those with effective political lobbies won the subsidies and bailouts whether justified or not.

Using history as our guide we see Obama is doing the same thing as FDR.  It didn’t work then and it isn’t working now.  Time and time again socialism has failed.  Capitalism will fail if Obama and the liberals succeed in instituting their socialist agenda. 

America fails if Obama succeeds.  We can’t let capitalism, conservatism fail by succumbing to liberal socialism.
