Another Union Payoff

Barack Obama gave his jobs speech last Thursday night.  Seventeen times in the speech Obama  said, "We need to pass this plan and we need to do it right now."  Sound familiar?  It should because he said it about his first stimulus bill.  We know how well it turned out.

The speech was more of the same old thing.  This stimulus plan is another taxpayer funded boost for the unions to give the unions more jobs.  The unions have been upset so Obama is trying to appease them in this jobs speech.  What about the 90% of American workers who aren't union?  Obama doesn't care about us.  We don't pay union dues that are funneled to Democrat campaigns.

Some points of his speech:

• Spend about a half-trillion dollars we don’t have.
• Insure that as much of the new spending is spent by the government sector as possible.
• Make sure that to the greatest extent possible the beneficiaries of the spending are union workers --- teachers, construction workers.
• Tell the masses once again that the evil rich and the nasty corporations are not paying “their fair share” of taxes.
• Get the phrase “millionaires and billionaires” in there at least once to generate a little more class envy.
• Call for the increased spending, but pass the buck on how to come up with the money to the super committee of 12 Senators and Congressmen.

Was Obama trying to set a trap for Republicans when he said, "The question is whether, in the face of an ongoing national crisis, we can stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy; whether we can restore some of the fairness and security that has defined this nation since our beginning.”

To Obama and the Democrats compromise means doing what we want.  They know Republicans will give into them because they don’t want to be seen as the job-killing party. This is the Democrat version of “compromise.” If the Republicans don’t go along, the media will be the mouthpiece for the Obama administration giving him and the economy cover.

Don't be fooled.  This is just like Obama's stimulus bill.  It won't create jobs.  It will pay off some unions and add another $500 billion to the national debt.
